HISTORY
Martin Four was in official selection CINEF at 2001 Cannes Film Festival and screened at over 20 international festivals. His follow up short film Half Sister & Violet Lives Upstairs screened at festivals including Edinburgh, Palm Springs, Sao Paulo, Mill Valley, Montreal. Violet Lives Upstairs also won the Australian Film Critics Circle Award for Best Short Film.
He was the second Australian to be selected for the prestigious Cannes Residency in Paris in 2006 and his debut feature film Corrōborō was selected for Toronto and Berlinale. In 2018, his second feature film Celeste had its world premiere at Melbourne International Film Festival, followed by selection in Official Competition Adelaide Film Festival and Opening Night at Brisbane International Film Festival. The film had its International premiere at BFI London Film Festival, followed by screenings in international film festivals in Santa Barbara, Nashville, Cork, San Francisco. The film was nominated for Best Feature Film at Screen Producers Awards (2019).
Currently in early production for a feature documentary NAPALM, a search for a father amidst the mythology of Colonel David Hackworth, the infamous inspiration for Robert Duvall’s Lieutenant Kilgore in Coppola’s Apocalypse Now.
Also in early financing is MODERN LOVERS, a feature film in co-production with Unicorn Films, Melbourne. The project was awarded best pitch at MIFF 37 South and awarded a place at the BFI London’s Production Finance Market in October.
